All: Thanks to Bernard Burke, the photos indicate that the bird is an adult male of the expected (Greenland, Nunavut, Labrador) race leucorhoa in fresh autumn (Basic) plumage. Most of those seen here are first-fall birds. Since adults are less likely to make a navigational error, I wonder if this is one of last fall's large flight returning for a second season of wintering in N. America. This year's flight may almost match last year's - several have been seen in the Avalon Pen., Newfoundland, and at least one in ME. Ian McLaren
