Hi All, Twelve of us were birding Cape Sable Island today, but could not find the Broad-billed Sandpiper. However a fair bit fog hampered the search efforts. 7:42 pm found Dad and I back at the sand bar where at Broad-billed Sandpiper was originally seen. It was covered in gulls, including 4 adult Lesser Black-back Gulls and 21 Black-bellied Plovers. Our search ended at 7:46 pm when the last of the Black-bellied Plovers flew off. New birds seen today over yesterday included a good number of Pectoral Sandpipers, Bank, Barn, Tree, & Cliff Swallows. The 2 Great Egrets were still present as well as the 2 American Oystercatchers. It was also fun meeting birders today from Europe, New York and Edmonton. All of which saw a number of birds they wanted to see. The Edmonton birder was Richard Knapton, who some of you may remember from the time he spent in Nova Scotia. - All the Best in Birding, Clarence __________________________________________________________________ Yahoo!
