These Wilderness Areas=97from the massive Tobeatic =20 Wilderness Area that covers five counties to tiny McGill Lake=97showcase = =20 the best of natural Nova Scotia, and Len Wagg has photographed them all =20= for Wild Nova Scotia. Over the last year and a half, Wagg spent close =20= to a hundred days in the province=92s wilderness, logging over 15,000 =20= kilometres and taking beautiful, telling portraits of the province=92s =20= most secret and lovely places. Photos of important areas not designated =20= Wilderness Areas are included as well=97like the shores of the =20 Northumberland Strait, where herds of seals find places along the =20 shores to have their young; the Bay of Fundy, where world-class tides =20= erode massive cliffs; Kejimkujik National Park, where the sounds =20 campers hear are all natural; and Nova Scotia=92s =93barren=94 Sable = Island, =20 home to birds, plants, seals and a herd of wild horses. Each area has =20= distinctive characteristics that make it unique. Wild Nova Scotia =20 showcases the special places, protected or not, allowing people to =20 bring home some of the amazing natural beauty of this province. Len Wagg has covered a varied selection of assignments in Nova Scotia, =20= Canada, United States, Europe, the Mediterranean, Ethiopia and Rwanda =20= since joining The Chronicle Herald in 1984. Over the years his =20 photographs have appeared in such publications as The New York Times, =20= Time Magazine, MacLean=92s and other newspapers all over the world. He =20= also is the author of Nova Scotia Landmarks, editor for Chronicle of =20 Our time, and Project editor for Maritmers at War Assignment =20 Afghanistan. He has won numerous journalism awards on the regional and =20= national level. He has also won awards for his work in magazines and =20 most recently Wild Nova Scotia won the Award for Excellence in =20 Illustration at the 2008 Atlantic Book Awards. =A0 Everyone is welcome. =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=20 =3D=3D Patrick Kelly Director of Computer Facilities =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=20 =3D=3D Faculty of Architecture and Planning Dalhousie University =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=20 =3D=3D PO Box 1000 Stn Central 5410 Spring Garden Road Halifax, Nova Scotia B3J 2X4 Halifax, Nova Scotia B3J 2X4 Canada Canada =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=20 =3D=3D Phone:(902) 494-3294 FAX:(902) 423-6672 E-mail:patrick.kelly@dal.ca =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=20 =3D=3D --Apple-Mail-78-1336652 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Content-Type: text/enriched; charset=WINDOWS-1252 <fontfamily><param>Times New Roman</param>The=A0monthly meeting of the Blomidon Naturalists Society will be held Monday, September 15, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. in room 241 of the Beveridge Arts Centre at Acadia University.=A0 Please note change back to our old meeting place.=A0</fontfamily> =A0 <fontfamily><param>Times New Roman</param>Special topic this month will be Wild Nova Scotia by Len Wagg - Nova Scotia has designated thirty-three Crown-owned areas as Wilderness Areas, consisting of about five percent of the provincial land-mass.
