Today=2C Peter Davies (separately=2C but at the same time at Western Head) =
as Dorothy Poole and I saw four surf scoters fly by.
=20
We had two rarities=2C but they shall remain as unknowns. The one was a la=
rge tern=2C all white=2C but we were unable to see any features of the head=
or bill. It was either a caspian or royal. It was headed to the southwes=
t=2C so Murray=2C Johnny and Clyde keep your eyes open. The other bird was=
a brownish duck with very pointed wings flying above the wavetops. The wi=
ng beat was strange. We suspect only that it might have been a female harl=
equin duck. Not a given as it puzzled the three of us. Definitely a duck =
of some sort.
