On Saturday at noon low tide we visited McCormack=B9s Beach Park and found many Semipalmated Plovers, also Black-bellied Plover, Semipalmated Sandpiper, White-rumped Sandpiper, Willet and Greater Yellowlegs. Further along the road south we found Sanderling and a dozen or more Ruddy Turnstones. On Sunday, about 9:00am, we visited Rainbow Haven Beach and found a flock o= f Black-bellied Plovers mixed with Dunlin. Back in spruce trees we found a small flock of warblers including Black and White, Yellow, Chestnut-sided and Black-throated Green. The highlight for us was good views of a Dovkie that was floating in on the tide then flying out and floating in again. A lifer for us inland birders. --=20 Brian Mortimer & Ruth Lambert Ottawa Ontario brian_mortimer@sympatico.ca --B_3303140752_308569 Content-Type: text/html; charset="ISO-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <HTML> <HEAD> <TITLE>Dartmouth - Weekend shorebirds and Dovkie</TITLE> </HEAD> <BODY> <FONT FACE=3D"Verdana, Helvetica, Arial"><SPAN STYLE=3D'font-size:12.0px'>We ar= e visiting from Ontario and had a few successful forays to look for shorebir= ds.<BR> <BR> On Saturday at noon low tide we visited McCormack’s Beach Park and fo= und many Semipalmated Plovers, also Black-bellied Plover, Semipalmated Sandp= iper, White-rumped Sandpiper, Willet and Greater Yellowlegs.
