Hey bugsters -  out today despite the dreary cloudy occasional sun burst
appearance at a marshy pond in Eastern Passage where the following odeS &
leps were seen:

The blue moziac darners are quite hansom bugs

 

ODES

Ae. canadensis -canada Darner

Ae. constricta  (rare) - lance tipped darner

Ae. tubericulifera - black- tipped darner

Ae. umbrosa - shadoe darner

Ae. verticalis (uncommon) - green striped darner 

Ae. interrupta - variable darner

Anax junius - common green darner

Libellula pulchella -12 spot skimmer

Plathemis Lydia - common white tail

Pantala flavescens ( first time I have seen one perch )

Sympetrum semicintum -band wing meadowhawk

Sy. obtrusm -white face meadow hawk

Sy. internum - cherry faced meadow hawk

Sy. costiferum- saffron winged meadow hawk

 

Alot of the Sympetrum sp. and the Anax junius were in tandem and/or wheel
position The male L. pulchella  ( 12 spot Skimmer) were doing there own
incredible air show . I stood for about 30 min watching  their  antics &
acrobatics with a front row seat . they are truly amazing !

Great Spangled or Aphrodite fritillary ( hard to tell very worn )

Very fresh Mourning Cloak

A potential 2nd generation Summer Azure  fresh or perhaps Cherry Gall Azure
