Dear All, Aug 16, 2008
So far I have hauled only 3 loads of wood but, while doing this,
have noticed several things that mark this year as unique.

Over a 27 year period I have cut >160 cord of wood and hauled from
probably some 800 piles but this year, for the first time, I found a
Salamander in these woods. And twice this year I have seen a common
Ground Beetle (Carabus granulatus) in woodpiles. And so far, no ant
nests, snakes or snake skins in the piles.

Also just near the road entrance I noticed pure white earth tongue
(or look alike).

Yt, DW
