A highlight was an early RED-NECKED GREBE in alternate plumage. Along the causeway, a hatch year Brown-headed Cowbird was seen with Savanah Sparrows including one ( SAVS) that was carrrying food, but the cowbird later flew off so I could not be sure if it was an intruded sibling to the sparrow family. Only 26 warblers (7 species) were spied most common were Yellow and A. Redstart with 7 of each. The source of alarm for a pair of Robins in the woods opposite the old school house was found to be a BARRED OWL which flew directly toward me when I gave a quick pish. A walk on the big marsh produced some hatch year Nelson's Sharp-tailed Sparrows. A total of 75 species were detected.
