Beautiful day with clouds... perfect for photography and no camera with me! 3 Wilson's Petrels 1 Solitary Sandpiper 4 White rumped sandpiper no sign of Whimbrels dowitchers least sandpipers semipalmated sandpipers semipalmated plovers ruddy Turnstones black bellied plovers 30 + Surf Scoters 3 Black Scoters 20+? White winged Scoters Northern Gannets, mostly adult 50+ ? 1 possible Tennessee warbler? 1 possible Golden crowned kinglet Black capped chickadee family 3 Parula Magnolia family Yellow Warbler family American Redstart family N. Flicker family Alder flycatcher lots of Cedar waxwings and young Oddly no yellow rumped warblers or juncos 25 + Great Blue Herons Common Terns Bonaparte Gulls, mostly hooded Double Crested Cormorants Green winged teal family The exciting and rare moment was watching one adult Gannet flying up close up to the highway and lighting on a rock, at least10 metres away from my car! A few minutes later, an adult bald eagle was looking for a meal so the diving bird was not giving himself to him so it headed for the sea for safety. Cheers, liz
