There has apparently been no detection of salmonellosis in the dead
finches tested at Maritime veterinary labs this summer. Rather,
trichomoniasis has been identified as a problem in some of those
examined.

An short item on the rise of trichomoniasis as a problem in finches
can be read on the blog of the Canadian Cooperative Wildlife Health
Centre, Atlantic Region. It has become significant in the UK since
2005 and was noted in NS in 2007. See http://atlantic.ccwhc.ca/?p=64
