SEMIPALMATED PLOVER.=20

Popular synonyms. Semipalmated King Plover; American Eing Plover; =
Ring-neck;=20

Liz
...........................

Reading 'A Labrador Doctor' by Wilfred Grenfell.
He describes an experience in 19th century England where ,as a boy, he =
saw shorebirds on the sand including king plovers.
I can find no reference to king plovers in either my British or North =
American books so I am wondering if it is an obsolete name for a =
different species.
Anyone?
