Hi,

I have been checking up on a a pair of N. Mockingbirds in one of my squares
(but about 3km. away from the previous year's nest). A few days ago I saw 2
adults, 1 carrying food, and a juv. plumaged bird (spotty underpartds).
Today I watched an adult head into a small tree with food and then come out
without, so further investigation led to finding a nest containing 3 very
young chicks. The fully fledged juvenal-plumaged bird was flying around
nearby, so I suspect that might have been from an earler brood. The "owner"
said that Mockingbirds had been around all Summer, often singing at 4am. I
did not attempt to take photos of the nest, as that might have meant
unnecessary disturbance, but I do have some of the adults and fledged older
young.

Richard
