There are a few records of the species both from the mainland and Cape Breton Island, but I suspect that it is relatively widespread. I've certainly seen it periodically. I can't tell you anything about its bionomics. The resting postures of these plume moths, looking somewhat like scale- winged crane flies, is very characteristic. There are at least 13 species her in Nova Scotia, although I suspect there may be more unreported species. Good resources on this group are the Pterophoridae page of the Moth Photographers Group: http://mothphotographersgroup.msstate.edu/Files/JV/JV30.shtml and The Pterophoridae of North America. http://www.plumemoth.com/ It's a good record: thanks for bringing it to my attention!
