Hi Henk:
=20
I think the pond and activity in question was a salt marsh restoration
project by the NS Dept of Highways

Subject: [NatureNS] drained pond

Hi All,
=20
There used to be a nice pond along highway 207, just across from the
first parking lot (coming from Dartmouth) of Lawrencetown beach.
Last Fall a double culvert was installed under the Atlantic View trail,
connecting this pond with Lawrencetown Lake and causing it to almost
completely drain, leaving a sadly looking mess.
Does anyone know why the culvert was installed, for what purpose ?
Thanks, Henk Kwindt, Cow Bay, NS.
