It = was nice and cool and, of course, foggy. I like foggy days because = birds seem to come out in the open as they do in my presence. Thought I = would look for my first Spotted Sandpiper and Sharp tailed sparrow for = this year. Lots of Savannah and Song sparrows, a few of them having = insects in their beaks. I thought I saw one Ipswich sparrow?? Finally, = one lone sharp tailed sparrow popped up and perched on a branch for a = while. Good looks. I flushed out a young Northern Harrier out of its = hiding in the thickets. No shorebirds, not even Spotted sandpipers = anywhere... It was good to have barriers in place to block those big 4 = x 4 trucks from trampling all over the place.
