Hi;

While atlassing in my Liscomb square this week, I saw and heard at least two Purple Martins.

Last year I saw several at this location and recorded them as X - observed but no breeding evidence. It was late July and they could have been moving through from anywhere. This year, in the third week of June, I saw them in the exact same location!

Directions: Highway 7, Eastern Shore, Guysborough County. Drive about 60 km. past Sheet Harbour (10 past Liscomb Lodge) east towards Sherbrooke. Once you pass Liscomb and the road to Pye Head, turn down the road which leads to Little Liscomb. This road follows the edge of Little Liscomb Harbour. There's a house at the beginning of this road with a sign "Quilts for sale". I think it's called Grafton Road - but I explored so many roads that I'm not 100% sure of the name. I do know it's not Pye Head Road, nor Wharf Road, nor Mailman's Pt. Road. It's the next one.

The cove at the beginning of this road is where the Purple Martins are; about 100 meters down the road.

If you check the Atlas Website: www.mba-aom.ca and download the pdf map for square # 20NQ78, it's right at Point # 22 (579,090E/4,986,728N).

Cheers;
Suzanne
