shorebirds returning to csi is that better for you to understand,
the shorbill dowitchers are here now 25 of them they came from somewhere else, where i dont know and no one else for sure, non breeders probaly, but they are on the move and that is the start each year of the dowitchers migration. they will each year in late june 25 or so first then 75 then 125 then 400, 500 etc etc.to 5 to 10 thousand. now if they go to cape brenton and stop
for the spring for exsample for the spring and then here on the 25th of june fly back to csi to get ready to return south thats a migration strart in my book.

Murray et al., we seldom think of looking for southward shorebird migrants until early July, but remember when Peter Whelan wrote his weekly bird column on Saturdays in the Globe and Mail? Without fail, year after year, he always started talking about his informants reporting migrant shorebirds from the north, or ones that perhaps didn't go all the way north (immatures), or ones that couldn't or didn't nest, in the last third or last week of June, which seems normal for CSI too. Cheers from Jim in Wolfville.
