We were there Sunday.  The plants need to grow a bit more, but there  
were many buds, one showing some pink.  I think that your estimate for  
timing is probably just right.

Visitors, please try to cause as little disturbance as possible to  
this site.  It is said that if people walk all around a cluster of  
these orchids, trampling down the soil, they cannot spread.

Also, on every occasion I have been to the orchid patch, there are  
swarms of hungry female mosquitoes there.  Unless you are protected,  
they will take so much of your blood that they will put Dracula out of  
business.
