Our Warbling Vireo is back - singing in the trees just to the N. of the pond
on our property, where it abuts next door's. Last year it was singing for a
few days in mid-May. This year this evening is the first time I heard it. I
also got some record photos this evening. It sounds like a Purple Finch but
harsher. If people want to try for it, go to the pond at the N. end of our
property (address below), or park in the driveway and walk N. along the road
(careful of traffic) and follow the song till you see the bird. It likes to
stay hidden in thick leaves. If you want to wander around our property, best
to call (678-1975) first). There are also a B.Oriole and a Catbird singing
in that area, and - beware - Purple Finches around..

What is the Atlas code for a bird singing in suitable habitat for less than
a week at a time but for 3 years in a row?

Richard
