A male and a female Ring-necked Pheasant were seen 21 Jun crossing Hwy
333 at French Village. A pheasant male was earlier seen at Seabright,
HRM, and has been heard calling frequently.

Male pheasant was seen morning of 22 Jun crossing 215 south of
Summerville in Hants Co.

A male pheasant was seen on the Aspotogan Peninsula near Northwest
Cove during the recent “Ride the Lobster” unicycle race.

My impression is that pheasants are more common than they were a few
years ago. It is possible that they make it through the winter on
handouts from bird feeders.
