EARLY CRESCENT MOON
Since it is looking so clear this evening, I'll be trying for a view
of the early crescent Moon. By 9:15 it will be a good 10 degrees or
a bit more above the WSW horizon. The crescent will be nice and slim
(about 2.55 days since it was New Moon). A little later as the sky
darkens, the two Gemini stars (Castor -most west and Pollux) will be
seen about 10 degrees above the Moon. A bit eastward and up a bit
will be Mars and a little further east, above the WSW, a nice pair of
stars (err well, rather a planet and a star) Regulus and Saturn.
Saturn is the brighter and a bit higher.

MOON AND PLANETS
The crescent Moon over the next few evenings will be positioning
itself near each of the planets. See Spaceweaher dot Com today,
http://www.spaceweather.com it gives a sky chart for the next few
nights, including this evening.
