Today in the woods in Cambridge Station we found pink lady slipper,
clintonia, false lily of the valley, painted trillium, star flower, and
bunchberry. Beside an agricultural field we saw a black swallowtail
butterfly. Birds included a common yellow-throat, yellow-rumped and
yellow warblers, a single nighthawk, two male wood ducks, a mother
mallard with four little ones in tow, hermit thrush, ovenbird, and the
usual blue jays, robins, downy woodpecker, song sparrow and rw
blackbird. Also lots of mosquitoes.
