This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --Boundary_(ID_f+CsntasAoa4BGxAwd3K3Q) Content-type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1 Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT Hello, A number of us waited patiently on the deck chairs in the backyard of the Wiscombe residence for over an hour (from ~4:00 to 5:15 this afternoon) but the YHBB did not put in an appearance. When all else fails, I follow Fulton's advice "Think like a bird". A YHBB would be most at home in a marsh, so where is the nearest marsh? Point Pleasant Park. of course! Wendy and I, leaving Suzanne B on lookout at the Wiscombe residence, decided to check out the "swamp" at PPP and, sure enough, there it was!! To find the marsh/swamp/pond, enter Point Pleasant Park by the path directly at the end of Young Ave. Follow the path (Birch Avenue?) as it bends to the left and after about 50 - 75 m, there is some water on the right. The Blackbird was at the far end of the pond, hanging out with 5-6 Grackles, hopping around in the tangles of dead trees at the edge of the water. I have several distant photos which would be good for confirmation only. We first sighted the bird around 5:45 PM and it was still there at 6:30 when we left. We were able to call Suzanne on her cell phone, and Suzanne was able to contact Joan Czapalay and her grandson, David. Finally, we were all able to get good looks - a lifer for David, at least! Cheers, Bob McDonald P.S. Bernard, your pictures are terrific!! --Boundary_(ID_f+CsntasAoa4BGxAwd3K3Q) Content-type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1 Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3c.org/TR/1999/REC-html401-19991224/loose.dtd"> <HTML><HEAD> <META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> <META content="MSHTML 6.00.6000.16640" name=GENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ffffff" bgColor=#ffffff> <DIV><FONT size=2>Hello,</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2>A number of us waited patiently on the deck chairs in the backyard of the Wiscombe residence for over an hour (from ~4:00 to 5:15 this afternoon) but the YHBB did not put in an appearance.
