May 23
Two White-winged Crossbills visited one of feeders while I was
elsewhere. True to their nomadic reputation, they have not
returned.

At Palmeter Woods this am, a singing Pewee was the only new
bird.

Heard the pair of Barred Owls duetting in Palmeter Woods a few days ago.
Perhaps the same pair have been there for 7+ years. Oddly more likely to
hear them in summer and during the day.

Have a pair of Rose-breasted Grosbeaks at our feeders for the past two
weeks at least. (Common nesters in the immediate area). Today 1 male and
2 fem. Purple Finches were there but the females wouldn't let the male
feed with them!!
