Monday, May 26, 2008 I got home just after 6 pm and learnt about the sighting of the adult Yellow headed blackbird in south end Halifax. I was shocked that Harbourview Drive was not far from where I live and also where my mom live!! I went over to Janice Wiscombe's place almost right away. We had to wait more than one hour before the really handsome Yellow headed black bird appeared high in a tree in another neighbour's yard. It was preening itself for a while and then flew up to Janice's tree and finally flew over her house. The time was 7:18-24 pm. Janice said the blackbird appeard yesterday (Sunday) and kept coming back to the yard a few times today. It seemed to hang around with some grackles, mourning doves, and starlings. Many thanks to Janice and Blake reporting the sighting. Cheers, liz ................ An adult male Yellow-headed Blackbird first appeared in a back-yard at 5754 Harbourview Drive in Halifax, the home of Janice Wiscombe. The bird reappeared this afternoon, Monday, 26 May. 423-5188. She welcomes any who might wish to connect with this handsome bird. Blake Maybank
