May 18, 2008 - Robie Tufts Nature Centre in Wolfville at dusk: I checked for CHIMNEY SWIFTS from 8:20 to 9:05 p.m. (Sunset 8:39) -- sky was clear but then got partly cloudy and made it hard to see the swifts as darkness grew -- nice warm evening, with light wind from west, 12 C. -- TOTAL OF 50 CHIMNEY SWIFTS all entered the chimney rapidly at 9:00 -- observers Jim Wolford plus a few others, including a couple from Coldbrook who used to live in Belize. We also saw a great blue heron flying east (probably to deliver food to a mate or nestlings on Boot Island off ne. Grand Pre).
