Doug is working on it. I look at "Birding on the Net" every once in a while it seems that other members of NatureNS are able to see them. Cheers, Pat 22APR08 Kingston: Marshall Rd. at Walker's Brook: Eastern Phoebe DU, East Margaretsville: 2 male, 3 female Mallards, 2 female Hooded Mergansers, 1 Canada Goose Victoria Vale, Phinney's Pond: 2 male, 1 female, Hooded Mergansers, males competing for the attention of the female, after a dispute between the two males, one male and the female flew to the opposite side of the pond; 1 Canada Goose appeared to be on a nest on the island; 3 Painted Turtles, a family, who has a home beside the pond had been canoeing on the pond yesterday evening a saw several painted turtles and another Canada Goose nesting on shore. Civic #552 Dillusion Rd, 5 Chipping Sparrows at a platform feeder, at this location 8 Cormorants, in 'V' formation flew overhead heading SE near Port George: Common Raven, 3 Song Sparrows and more than 5 Savannah Sparrows, 1 Dark-eyed Junco on the roadside, hydro lines and bushes in the ditch Port George: 1 Savannah Sparrow, several Song Sparrows, 1 Tree Swallow, ~40 Purple Sandpipers, 1 pair Harlequin Ducks, 5 Common Loon, 11 Common Eider, 1 adult male and 2 Females Black Scoter, 1 pr Red-breasted Merganser The Song, Chipping, and Savannah Sparrows were all adults looking absolutely splendid in the gentle breezes and bright sunlight. We were surprised to see so many Chipping Sparrows at the one platform feeder that was about 8ft above ground. Access to the feeding surface was available from a deck at the front of the home. We were at Port George at about 1530, the tide was ebbing, it had been high at about 1430. A great day at the shore.
