Index of Subjects

Further to Jim & Randy's suggesting #2 is a wasp, I investigated it further and found that without doubt it is an Ichneumon Wasp. It may be in the Family Braconidae (Subfamily Campopleginae) where some Ichneumonons have been placed but more likely it is in the Family Ichneumonidae. Note this individual has spurs at the join of the tarsus and tibia (and perhaps a spur on the tibia). Some Ichneumon have a double spur at the former location. I have posted another pic which shows the two-toned effect of the antennae more clearly. The latter feature is said to identify it as an Ichneumon.
The first pic (enlarged) is at:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/58321572@N00/2416819753/
The added pic (also enlarged) is at:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/58321572@N00/2420115694/sizes/o/

Angus

At 11:18 AM 16/04/2008, you wrote:

Jim's two cents' worth is/are below in Angus' list -- great photos as usual, Angus!

Begin forwarded message:

From: Angus MacLean <angusmcl@ns.sympatico.ca >
Date: April 15, 2008 9:27:01 PM ADT
To: NatureNS@chebucto.ns.ca
Subject: [NatureNS] More Small Critters
Reply-To: naturens@chebucto.ns.ca

I have posted a few more pics from the past summer here:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/58321572@N00/2417639744/in/photostream/

In order these are:
1.
