Just to add to this, I was also in River Bourgeois (Richmond County Cape =
Breton) for the last two days, and I was quite surprised at the amount =
of Fox Sparrows in a rather small wooded area. Today (Tuesday) at least =
12 different individuals flew in front of me across a wide path, and I'm =
sure there were a lot that I missed. They are impressive singers. Here =
is a photo of one of them:

A couple of other likely spring arrivals included a Great Blue Heron on =
Monday (perhaps the one seen in St. Peters) and a Belted Kingfisher =
today.

On the way home, within minutes I viewed 5 deer next to a house. The =
time of day for this, at 20 minutes to one in the afternoon, was what =
mostly got my attention:

I was able to photograph them without really disturbing them, as they =
had remained there while I continued on my merry way.
