We, here in the Glenwood Ave/Celtic Ave. area of Dartmouth have been fortunate to have had the presence of Northern Cardinals as, almost, a common daily sight through every season for several years anyway.
And like so many other birds, are pairing up too.
Today, I noticed a pair of Cardinals on the ground. The male was searching around and when he would find a seed (I guess) took it to the female and, very tenderly (or so it appeared to me) feed it to her. I am just assuming this is courtship behaviour?

My 2 Fox Sparrows are still here too.

Though I have yet to see any Grackles here, I did see (& certainly heard!...they always sound like rusty door hinges) a number at Shubie Park yesterday.
