Mar. 31, 2008 - Today is another gorgeous Spring day, Sunny and relatively windless and well above zero Celsius, with lots of birds singing in the morning. Also seen at the feeders this morning were 2 PINE SISKINS and a singe RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH (the first one seen at home in a long time for me); and likewise there were 2 SISKINS and 2 RED-BREASTED NUTHATCHES yesterday at feeders at Lumsden Reservoir. Sheila Burke called today to report: yesterday at Grand Pre, somewhere east of the ³village² and south of the RR tracks, she saw a GREAT BLUE HERON; and today on the ground on the Grand Pre dykelands and then flying, she saw a possible TURKEY VULTURE? -- a very large black bird, bigger than an eagle, she thought, but at too great a distance for her binoculars for identification. Cheers from Jim in Wolfville, 542-9204
