I just wanted to alert people on Nature NS that one of the Nocturnal Owl =
Survey Routes that I do for Bird Studies Canada will be available should =
someone wish to take over from me.

The route begins in Dayspring, on the outskirts of Bridgewater, and =
follows gravel and paved roads in a loop northward and ending not far =
from the NE edge of Bridgewater. I have done it for 3 years and am =
giving it up but keeping another route that I have done since 2003.

These owls routes are done once per year on the established route =
between the first week of April and mid May. You get an instruction =
manual, training CD and a playback CD. I usually start the survey around =
9 pm and am done by 11:30 pm. It is a roadside survey - drive 1.6 km or =
so between stops, get out of your vehicle and survey for 9 1/2 minutes, =
travel on for a total of 10 stops.

You will be part of a Canada wide survey and did I mention the hot =
chocolate they send you?

Let me know if you are interested.

Peter Hope
