Hi there, I just came back to town from Bedford, and there is a most striking ring or halo around the moon tonight. I know this indicates frost crystals high in the atmosphere, and perhaps portends a snowstorm. I've seen them before, but not in so large a circle as tonight. If I hold out my fist at arm's length, and extend my thumb as well, that is the radius of the ring. It's quite lovely and would make a pleasing photograph. Patricia L. Chalmers Halifax
