Mar. 11, 2008 - At home at our Wolfville feeders, the CLAY-COLOURED and WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS are still present. Mar. 13, 2008 - At 2:15 p.m. in my Wolfville neighborhood, from my car I was surprised to see a MINK slowly patrolling front yards along the street (Beckwith St.), perhaps on the lookout for mice, rats, unwary birds, etc.? It acted as if it didnąt care about me following it about in my car. This is nowhere near any substantial water, although a half-block away is a very small intermittent stream that runs along the lower boundary of our property. At our feeders, the two łgood sparrows˛ are still daily visitors, plus male and female CARDINALS (often two of the latter), a single PINE SISKIN today, one or two red squirrels, etc. The male cardinal was at the safflower-seed feeder today, making a lovely sunny contrast between his gaudy red and the white of the seeds. Cheers :-) from Jim in Wolfville, 542-9204 --------------------- Jim (James W.)
