oh meant to say we have chickadees and many other birds feasting on the 
drops of sap in the maples....they pull off the buds and sip away. Kind of 
neat. The tree develops 'popsicles' and the crows come on and gobble them up

I haven't heard anyone mention spring flowers yet. Today I found a snowdrop 
and a small crocus on the front lawn.
