Glad to hear you finally got to see the Sapsucker. I have been away since
Friday morning - got storm-stayed in Parrsboro and just got home this
afternoon. I have seen the Sapsucker, a Downy and a Hairy since I got home
a couple of hours ago.

Carol Bernice and I went down to the Valley yesterday. We stopped in
Hantsport and finally got to see the Yellow-bellied Sapsucker.

In Grand Pre we were joined by Judy O'Brien and Giselle d'Entremont and saw
the same Peregrine Falcon Judy Tufts saw on the top of a telephone pole,
pulling a bird apart.

Jim Wolford's Baltimore Oriole was sitting in all of its glory in a bush at
the side of his yard.

On Ridge Road we had great, closehand looks at a Pileated Woodpecker. We
also saw the large flock of siskins, redpolls and goldfinches reported by
Richard.

Margaretsville had 51 Snow Buntings sitting on a telephone wire. Along the
shore were 7 Harlequin Ducks and 30 Purple Sandpipers.

We returned to Wolfville and checked in to the Tattingstone for the night
where Alan and Mary-Jane Covert were waiting for us. After a delicious
supper at Acton's we all headed over to Kentville to watch Liz Stern in a
very funny play. We returned to our rooms for wine and cheese and
conversation.

All in all, a very civilized and satisfying day.

Don
