Hi Patrick,
after looking at your photos,I came to conclusion that bird1 and bird2 are =
magnolia warblers,1st one being an imm. female and the 2nd an adult female.=
bird3,the two lower birds are white-winged crossbills, the bird on top I am =
studying further, the wing bars look heavier and the bill doesn't look right=
but,it might be the angle of the photo.bird4 does look like an american tr=
ee sparrow.I would be happy to explain my theory on a personal e-mail if yo=
u wish?

Hi again:Thanks everyone for the help with the last ones. I have almost fin=
ished going through my pictures and have found a few more that are ambiguou=
s.http://myweb.dal.ca/pmkelly/UnknownBird1.jpgThis was taken in late July i=
n an are where an old apple orchard is reverting to hardwood forest, and th=
ere is a softwood forest on the other side of the roadhttp://myweb.dal.ca/p=
mkelly/UnknownBird2.jpgI know this is a Canada warbler, but where the patte=
rn is not that bold, I'm not sure if this is a female or an immature male. =
It was taken, rather appropriately on Canada Iay, July 1st.http://myweb.dal=
.ca/pmkelly/UnknownBird3.jpgDecember 30, 2006. I'm quite sure there are pin=
e grosbeaks and not white-winged crossbills and they look to large, and eve=
n with the lack of resolution, the bills look "normal".http://myweb.dal.ca/=
pmkelly/UnknownBird4.jpgAlso from December of 2006. I originally thought th=
is was a tree sparrow, but it never lifted its head high enough to see the =
breast. it turned, went back under the feeder and then flew off. The mustac=
he and white spots at the end of the eye-stripes are why I'm now thinking i=
t is something else.Pat=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=
