membership is composed of: researchers from government, universities and=20
colleges, and industry; graduate and undergraduate students; representative=

to the science of studying and managing coastal and estuarine habitats in=20
Atlantic Canada.

The Society's functions are: to promote=20
research in estuarine and coastal waters of Atlantic Canada to promote=20
communication on matters related to aquatic science in Atlantic Canada to g=
ather=20
and disseminate to Society members and the general public scientific, techn=
ical,=20
and other information about estuaries and the coastal zone through meetings=
,=20
publications, and other forms of communication to encourage the teaching of=
=20
coastal and estuarine science in colleges and universities.

ACCESS is a non-profit organization that is=20
organized and operated exclusively for educational purposes. The Society is=
 an=20
affiliate of the Estuarine Research Federation (www.erf.org), an internatio=
nal federation that encompasses seven=20
affiliated societies. As an affiliate, the=20
ACCESS has representation on the Governing Board of the Estuarine Research=
=20
Federation.
