We see them daily at our feeders and the birds have an on-going battle with them. For several years, they had a den in a broken off Red Maple in our back yard. When the young emerge, they are almost the size of adults but the tail is considerably shorter and less bushy. A couple of our feeders are "squirrel proof"; at the others there is competition. They are "cute little rascals" as long as they stay outside! Cheers, Bob McDonald ----- Original Message ----- From: Patrick Kelly To: NatureNS Sent: Sunday, February 03, 2008 10:25 AM Subject: [NatureNS] Red squirrels are out already Hi everyone: You can imagine my surprise when I looked out at the bird feeder this morning and found a red squirrel having a feast at my expense! Cute little rascal though! I don't think I have ever seen one out this early in the year. Has anyone else been seeing squirrels?
