We left Halifax at 07:00 and headed down to Hantsport. The Yellow-bellied
Sapsucker didn't show and we left at 09:00. No luck with the Towhee on
Grand Pre Road but it is reported not to keep to a regular schedule so you
just have to be lucky to see it. There was a White-crowned Sparrow there
and some American Tree Sparrows.

At the end of the road opposite Boot Island in Grand Pre we were thrilled to
have a bird come sailing past us and land close by.....a Short-eared Owl.
We had great looks at it.

The Carolina Wren in Kentville was there when we arrived and posed nicely
for us in nearby bushes.

Brown-headed Cowbirds in with the large flock of starlings at Canard Poultry
and a Green-winged Teal at Tufts Cove added to our winter lists.
