Hi Everyone; I drove to Don MacNeill's this afternoon to try to see the Mockingbird. Liz Doull and I spent almost half an hour watching around the houses on Archibald Ave. with no luck. We did get a nice surprise when a Yellow-breasted Chat flew right in front of us and started feeding under the hedge in front of the second white house from the corner of Archibald & Romans! As I was driving away, I thought I'd check the houses behind Archibald (Cook & Heinish) and there it was! sitting in a huge bush on the corner of Cook and Romans in front of a small white house (6966?). It was right out in the open, looking very satisfied. It was surrounded by little black berries - in fact lots of bushes around it had loads of berries of one kind or another. Don and Carol told us he had seen it this morning - and that it was sure to be somewhere close by. Thanks for the heads up, Don! Directions: Romans Ave. runs along one side of the Halifax Shopping Centre, between Bayers Road and Mumford Road. If you turn into Aikens Ave. off Romans, and follow it around, it will end on Archibald. The Mockingbird and the Chat can be seen in any of the bushes, hedges and ornamental trees around these four houses (on the lefthand side of the road if you're facing Romans. When you come out on Romans again, turn left towards Bayers Road for about 100 meters until you come to Cook. The bush that the Mockingbird was in is on the lefthand, near corner of Cook and Romans.
