May and I went snowshoeing on our land today and came across lots more hare
tracks than I expected, but also coyote and bobcat tracks. When we got back
home, we were working outside (around 4:00) and a Barred Owl hooted from
very close by...we went out to the road, and the Blue Jays led us right to
the owl. And a Sharpie made a first appearance at our feeder today since
Dec. 1st.

One of my feederwatchers just sent me a picture of her hand-feeding a Pine
Grosbeak. Many folks are hosting PiGr's at their feeders this year, but I've
never heard of anyone hand-feeding one. Anyone? This same lady had four Red
Crossbills at her feeder on Count Day for us...only the third time recorded
on the Antigonish CBC.

Randy
