Hello,

Just a short note to report some birds of interest around Halifax:

 - On Nov 14, we had a very brief visit by a lone Pine Siskin, our first
this year! It stayed around for about 5 min and then disappeared and hasn't
returned!
 - On Nov 18 during the HFN field trip in Long Lake Prov Park, a pair of
Pine Grosbeaks were observed feeding on the berries of Canada Holly beside
the Lake. It looked as though the birds were picking off the berries,
discarding the pulp and eating the seed....? I had forgotten what
attractive birds they are!
 - Today during a brief walk in the Mainland Common, we observed a small
(~15-20) flock of Bohemian Waxwings. Wendy could hear them but I couldn't!!
Shucks! The pain of growing old!

Cheers,
Bob McDonald
