Hi all
I had a little hour-long hike this morning along the Pioneer Trail and into the MacLellan Marsh behind the Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow. It was a nice morning to be in the marsh as it was very calm and crisp out with a good frost last night. This makes it easier to hear birds scratching around in the cattails. I saw a little flock of 6 AMERICAN TREE SPARROWS and 2 JUNCOS along the trail. In the marsh I had good looks at a female or inmm. COMMON YELLOWTHROAT, 1 SWAMP SPARROW, 12 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS, 2 WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS and a great close and lingering view of a MARSH WREN. There was a single male PINE GROSBEAK amd several Redpolls and Goldfinches flew over-head. There were a few of the common ducks and gulls with a single Green-winged Teal and a male Hooded Merganser among them. I encountered single Hairy and Downy Woodpeckers as well as a Flicker. Oh to have a day that nice for the Springville CBC!
I also had 2 male Red-winged Blackbirds at my feeder this morning in Plymouth.

cheers
Ken
