Halifax Field Naturalists - Sunday, November 18, 2007 - Long Lake Provincial Park
Long Lake Provincial Park is a beautiful and diverse natural environment with lakes, streams, woodlands, and marshes. Situated between Spryfield and Goodwood, it is one of the largest pieces of public recreational land close to the centre of Halifax. Join Peter Webster to explore a little of this under-appreciated urban park. We will hike a few of the scenic trails in the park, talk about its history, and discuss plans for its future. The trail will have some rough sections and some small up-and-down scrambles. It can also be wet depending on conditions; appropriate footwear will be necessary. Bring water and snacks.
