All:

Today during an excursion to the recently obtained NS Nature Trust property at
Long Cove and Ragged Hbr., Queens, migrant landbirds were as scarce as
elsewhere, but there was, as noted for Duncan Cove area, a large movement of N.
Gannets not far offshore. I estimate hundreds went by in an hour or so of
casually looking out to sea. There were also good flocks of Com. Eiders and DC
Cormorants on the move and, inshore, about 15 Hooded Mergansers all told.

The NSNT property is stunning, but must be explored by canoe/kayak.

Cheers, Ian McLaren
