10:00 p.m. an amazing astro event is in progress; a very dim
periodic comet, for some reason has brightened to naked-eye
brightness. How long will it last. We don't know. But it is quite
easy to find in spit of the bright moonlight. it looks like a star
but it is where no star that bright is supposed to be!. Fortunate
as the night passes it gets higher and will be near overhead after
midnight. I've posted a diagram with details on how to find it on
one of my websites at:

http://web.mac.com/sherm39/iWeb/Site/comet-holmes.html

Some of you may be keen to catch this event if you get this tonight
or if it remains to be seen tomorrow night. I'll update things
tomorrow. It is quite neat in binoculars and a small telescope (a
nice bright fuzzy star) !

All the best,

Sherman
