Hi All,
Hiked Cabot Beach Landing Park yesterday and had a couple of good sigh=
tings. A Lapland Longspur was the most interesting as I don't see them very=
often. A Greater Yellowlegs and Belted Kingfisher were also noted. Lots of=
gulls including a few dozen Bonaparte's were feeding at the channel with N=
orthern Gannet, Red-throated Loons, D-c Cormorants, and Surf Scoters.
I also got a glimpse of what I believe was a Y-b Cuckoo (Blue Jay siz=
ed bird with rufus primaries) but only saw it in flight for a few seconds.
Very large spruce cone crop this year has meant WW Crossbills are an =
everyday sighting everywhere. Also lots of R-b Nuthatches this fall.=20
Fall colours are still great but leaves seem ready to drop. It was 74=
degrees here today (still 68 at 11:30 PM). All the best.=20
