Sunday, October 14th

Fulton and I decided to try for rare birds in Canso and its outskirts. =
Tom Kavanaugh of Canso joined us for the whole day .  Strong winds. =
Birds worth mentioning were:

1 Peregrine Falcon
20 + semipalmated plovers
1 Western Sandpiper - heard
1 Wilson's Snipe
1 White rumped sandpiper - wading in a puddle on the parking lot
1 Western Kingbird - seen in the morning
1 Dickcessel
Cliff swallow (young)
 Barn swallow
2 white breasted nuthatchs
1 American Redstart
1 white eyed vireo - lifer for Liz!
1  Blue headed vireo
few red eyed vireos
3 Baltimore Orioles
3 Red winged blackbirds - all juvenile
1 Rose breasted grosbeak
1 Nelson's Sharp tailed sparrow - lifer for Tom!
5 Clay-coloured sparrows=20
1 Lincoln Sparrow
100 + Indigo buntings - juvenile - everywhere
