Hello all,

This afternoon (6 October), I had a good view of an immature cuckoo of this species in a roadside tree at Mount Pleasant, Digby Co. It was along the Culloden road, just where the two communities meet (according to the road signs), but disappeared into the trees after a few minutes. Rusty flight feathers, mostly yellow mandible, and yellow eye-rings were visible, and tail spots were larger than those of Black-billed, although not as well-defined as in an adult. Nothing else of note in the area except an immature White-crowned Sparrow.

Cheers,

Wayne Neily
